One of Rabbit Ridge's favorite plants, the 'Gold Dust' Aucuba has dark green, leathery feeling leaves, lightly sereated margins, and a generous sprinkling of golden splashes on the surface of the leaves. Pretty all year and especially in the spring at start up as the light green new growth contrasts beautifully with the older, darker green old leaves. Not a good choice for a full sun location, but if you have a shady to partially sunny area, Aucuba is a must have for your garden. Once established, it is most tolerant of soil types and drought conditions. Light, periodic pruning will keep it happy.
