The Anna apple is a medium to large apple with a greenish-yellow color to it's skin; some apples ripen with a red blush. The fruit has a somewhat sweet taste and the flesh is creamy white. Anna apples have historically started their fruit production at an earlier age than other apple cultivars; we have also found that the apple itself is a good keeping apple. Here in North Carolina, they often ripen in very late June to early July. Will benefit from a pollinator and we recommend any other early blooming apple like Dorsett Golden, and including crab apples.
