Pink Lady ™, which is often sold and seen around being called the Cripps Pink, was developed in the 1970s by John Cripps in Western Australia, and is a cross between Golden Delicious and Lady Williams. These are, in fact, the same apples; it is just that the Pink Lady is patented and marketed by it's own name. Very distinctive in both flavor and color, Pink Lady ™ apples offer an exceptionally sweet to tart taste with a firm and juicy flesh. Medium in size and oblong in shape its skin is yellow, covered with a red to pink blush. Its creamy white flesh is highly crisp and resistant to browning when sliced.

This appealing, crisp apple from western Australia does very well in hot summers. A good keeper with sweet but tart flavor, Pink Lady ripens to a reddish-pink blush over green and requires 400 to 500 chill hours.
