The word 'Saskatoon' is derived from the Cree word 'misaskwatomin' meaning 'tree of much wood'. Is a blue-black color when ripe with a sweet, juicy, almost seedless flesh containing 18% sugar and about 80% water. Very high in anti-oxidants, it is "the little fruit with the big future" as more and more people discover and learn about it..
