The tasty, blackberry-like fruit of the 'Black Beauty' fruiting Mulberry is not only black but is very large and very juicy. This Persian Fruiting Mulberry is somewhat drought tolerant when it matures. Ours are budded at about 4 feet to promote lower branching. Cold hardy to about Climate Zone 4.

Mulberry trees are native to tropical climates and produce a sweet multiple-fruit (looks somewhat like a long skinny blackberry). The trees grow swiftly at first but soon become slow growing, a mature tree rarely reaches over 30 ft. Black mullberries can grow in a bushy-like habit if not trained young into a tree. The fruit is used extensively in jams and jellies and are enjoyed fresh from the tree. Mulberries are generally free of pests and diseases.
