This vigorous plum tree, considered more productive and attractive than just about any other plum tree, produces an abundant harvest of fruit each year.
So much, in fact, that one harvest requires multiple pickings! It's an upright, spreading tree with pretty springtime blossoms and glossy green leaves that make it quite ornamental.
The juicy, deep red fruit of the Methley is harvested in late June to early July, and is delicious... eaten freshly picked or make into preserves.
The Methley is self-fruitful and is a good pollinator for other Asian plums. It is a semi- dwarf variety that grows to only 10-15 feet tall.
This makes it the ideal plum tree for limited spaces. It is also a low maintenance tree that requires little to no pruning. Disease resistant and tolerant of dry, hot conditions. Prefers full sun, but is adaptable to nearly any type of soil.
