One of our favorites for its durability. Autumn ferns tolerate poorer conditions and dry spells much better than other ferns that we know about. The newly emerging fronds are a beautiful shade coppery pink to burgundy in color. Mature fronds are shiny and dark green and contrast nicely with the coppery tones of the new growth. Fronds are evergreen in areas with mild winters. Autumn Ferns will tolerate part shade if provided with a moist soil. Cut back old fronds in late winter or early spring to help clean up the plant after being wind blown by winter winds. Clump forming and can be divided every 3 - 4 years. A very easy to grow perennial fern that looks great as mass plantings. Perennial and evergreen.
